DVB-ASI stands for Digital Video Broadcasting Asynchronous Serial Interface. An Interface which transmits production ready MPEG-2 transport streams over a normal video cable. The transport stream contains video and audio data
with additional information. Since the gross data rate is always 270 megabits per second, an ASI signal with a normal video cable can be transmitted thorugh as normal SD-SDI signal.
